The Most Popular Oriental Bedroom Interior Designs

Oriental bedroom interior designs are sleek and calming with rich colors like reds and golds. Accents are delicate and wall art uses embroidered silk panels or hand painted scenes of nature with trees and birds. Asian bedroom designs were made popular in the 1950's so there are many vintage pieces that you can buy at a reasonable cost. More modern styles of this design feature sleeker lines that the vintage styles and have a calming and minimalist effect.

Oriental bedroom designs look best with natural materials such as bamboo. If you can get furniture made with rattan or bamboo that will go a long way to completing your look. If not, then try to focus on bedding, wall art, flooring, and accents to take the eye away from your furniture. Black lacquer furniture can look good in an Asian design bedroom and can be quite inexpensive, especially if you buy it second hand from your local consignment store.

Most Asian bedroom designs have a minimalist feel. Don't clutter the place up with too many accent pieces. Use deep rich colors to give the room warmth. Including live plants is a great way to give the room an exotic look. If your room is not too small, try painting the walls with a deep red, if you don't want to go so bold, then a medium gold color might be nice. For a more modern Asian design, go with a sage color.

Window treatments for oriental bedroom interior designs should consist of bamboo type shutters or roman shades. If you are going for a more elegant look, some silk drapes can be beautiful and give the room a rich feel. For the flooring, an oriental rug that pulls the other colors from the walls and bedding can look great for an elegant style room, but a more modern style design might look better with a simple jute rug over wood floors (or even over your existing wall to wall but it might bunch up a lot and have to be smoothed out each day)

Wall art can be simple if you are going for a more modern look - minimal black wood frames with colorful but simple subjects inside. If you want a more elegant look, try hanging some vintage embroidered silk panels or even an embroidered kimono. For either look, oriental painted panels add a nice touch. Even large hand painted fans that you can pick up pretty inexpensively can add a nice touch.

Simple accents of bamboo in containers, oriental teapots or vases and picture frames with clean lines can look good in an oriental bedroom design as well as peaceful indoor waterfalls. If you have the room, an oriental dressing screen can add a great look to a corner or even as a divider if your bedroom is big enough.

Bedding should be simple and almost monochromatic for a modern style but can be more colorful for an elegant style. Silk works great with an Asian oriental bedroom interior designs but doesn't plump it up with too many pillows. A couple of beautiful embroidered silk pillow will do the trick.
